Camel foi uma banda de rock psicodélico inglesa (não confunda com a banda de rock progressivo de mesmo nome liderada por Andy Latimer) formada em 1969 por Alex Jackson (vocais, guitarra acústica e piano), Dave Summer (guitarra e vocal), Martin Fischer (guitarra, vocal, piano, órgão, e harpsichord) e Pete Bush (bateria). O pouco que se sabe dos membros da banda é que o vocalista Alex Jackson (Alex Ligertwood) mais tarde tocou com Brian Auger, Average White Band e Santana.

O único álbum do Camel, Underage, lançado em 1969 foi gravado em quatro dias em um estúdio da RCA em Roma, Italy e relançado pela alemã Walhalla Records em CD em 2004.

Trata-se de um álbum de covers, porém com interessantes escolhas. A primeira faixa é o clássico do The Who “Pinball Wizard”, tipificando o som do Camel - heavy psych, beirando o progressivo. “Where is my Mind?” (Vanilla Fudge) e “Tin Soldier” (Small Faces) são o ponto alto do disco, a segunda contando com um belo trabalho de harpsichord. “Forget It, I Got It” (Spooky Tooth) ficou mais energética que a original. Não podia faltar um cover de Beatles, “Mystery Tour” lembra as viagens da fase inicial Pink Floyd. Na sequência vem a veloz “Can’t be So Bad” (Moby Grape), “Society’s Child” (Janis Ian) e a blueseira “Sitting on Top of the World” (Cream). O disco fecha com um novo cover de Spooky Tooth, uma versão pesada da clássica “Evil Woman”, com ecos de Uriah Heep e Pink Fairies.
