Joe Lynn Turner (nascido em 02 de agosto de 1951) é um cantor americano, mais conhecido por seus trabalhos com a banda de hard rock Rainbow. Durante sua carreira, Turner foi o principal membro da banda de jazz/rock & pop rock Fandango, colaborou em curta duração com o guitarrista neoclássico de metal Yngwie Malmsteen e com a banda Deep Purple. A partir de meados dos anos 1990, trabalhou com diversos grupos musicais (banda de rock progressivo Mother’s Army, duo com Glenn Hughes na banda Hughes Turner Project, projeto paralelo no estilo AOR com a banda Sunstorm, etc...). Ele é atualmente o vocalista da banda Rated X, em companhia do baterista Carmine Apice. O álbum de estreia foi lançado em 2014.

Nascido Joseph Arthur Mark Linquito em uma família italiana, ainda na escola, Turner formou a banda Ezra, executando canções originais e “covers”. Ele tocou acordeão quando criança, cresceu ouvindo e apreciando R & B e tornou-se um excelente guitarrista no início da adolescência, sendo influenciado principalmente por artistas como Led Zeppelin, Jimi Hendrix e Free. Em 1976, Turner sentiu o primeiro gosto do sucesso com a banda Fandango, uma banda descrita como uma mistura eclética de R & B, pop, country, jazz e rock melódico. Ele cantou e tocou guitarra em todos os quatro álbuns da banda. Excursionaram com vários artistas, incluindo The Allman Brothers, The Marshall Tucker Band, The Beach Boys e Billy Joel.

Depois de deixar a banda Fandango, Turner recebeu um telefonema do guitarrista britânico Ritchie Blackmore. Isto resultou em um teste e Turner foi imediatamente convidado a se juntar ao Rainbow. Em 1985, após a dissolução do Rainbow, Turner lançou um álbum solo, “Rescue You”, produzido por Roy Thomas Baker, conhecido por seu trabalho com as bandas Queen e The Cars. Ele escreveu a maioria das canções em parceria com o tecladista Al Greenwood (Foreigner). O primeiro single, "Endlessly", recebeu ampla divulgação nas rádios e na MTV. Seguiram-se turnês com Night Ranger e Pat Benatar e um papel no filme para TV “Blue Deville”. Em 1987, Turner também forneceu vocais de suporte para Michael Bolton no álbum “The Hunger”. Ele apareceu nas faixas "Hot Love" e "Gina".

Em 1988, juntou-se a banda Rising Force de Yngwie Malmsteen e gravou o álbum “Odyssey”. A breve turnê que se seguiu ao lançamento do álbum incluiu um concerto em Leningrado que foi gravado e depois lançado com o título de Trial By Fire. Em 1989, ele deixou a banda para se juntar ao Deep Purple, mas gravou apenas um álbum, “Slaves & Masters” (1990). O álbum alcançou a posição No. 87 na Billboard, seguido de uma turnê relativamente bem sucedida em 1991, mas Turner acabou por deixar a banda no final de 1992.

Posteriormente, participou de três álbuns da banda de rock progressivo Mother’s Army, com Jeff Watson, Bob Daisley e Carmine Appice.

Desde meados de 1990, Turner tem trabalhado principalmente em sua prolífica carreira solo e já trabalhou com a banda de rock finlandesa Brazen Abbot, liderada pelo guitarrista búlgaro Nikolo Kotzev e com Glenn Hughes sob o nome de Hughes Turner Project. Turner também participou da ópera rock de Nikolo, “Nostradamus”. Em 2005, fez parte do projeto russo de estúdio de Michael Men, “Made In Moscow”, junto com seu colega Glenn Hughes. Em 2006, ele assumiu um projeto de estúdio muito bem sucedido, Sunstorm, com o baixista Dennis Ward da banda de rock alemã Pink Cream 69. Turner foi também, um dos convidados para se apresentar nos shows do projeto “Voices Of Classic Rock”.

Em Agosto de 2006 Turner fez uma apresentação especial de músicas do Rainbow com a New Japan Philharmonic no Metropolitan Art Space em Tóquio, no Japão. Em 2008 ele formou Over The Rainbow, uma banda tributo composta de ex-músicos do Rainbow e o filho de Ritchie Blackmore, Jürgen, na guitarra.

No verão de 2012, ele e o os membros do projeto Legends Voice Of Rock fizeram um show no Golden Times Festival em Degerfors, Suécia.
